I've always noticed that my taste in music drastically changes this time of year. Once the first hint of spring hits, away goes my Tool, Brand New, Unearth, Glass Casket, NIN, RATM, Dream Theatre, APC, anything progressive and/or remotely heavy. Hell, even STP and Old Crow Medicine Show take a leave from my musical taste. In comes simpler, summer-y, catchier, and generally less-talented (but not always) tunes for a couple of months. My playlists resemble something similar to: fORMER, JEW, The Format, The Forecast, The Pink Spiders, Jarris, Manchester Orchestra, Races to April, and a ton of Third Eye Blind.
Maybe it's just that the weather is warmer and my music needs to adjust to it. Or maybe it's not officially spring until my playlist dictates that it is, ha.
Anybody else notice that their musical taste change with certain times of the year? Or am I the wierd one here? |
